Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the web, including her own released single Bound. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music circulated throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then released the song as a single by herself to the album she released her debut. The track was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 has been watched over 3 million times in the first 7 days. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
